What happens at a tryout?
Sessions run like a real Albertson training: small-sided games, technical work under pressure and game situations. Coaches assess on the Four Corners — technical, game intelligence, mental, physical — across the session, not on a single moment.
My player didn’t make the Top Team. What does that mean?
It means they've been placed on the team where they will develop fastest right now. Every level is coached by professionals on the same model, and movement between teams happens through the season as players grow. Placements are deliberate, player-centered decisions — we treat every team level equally.
Which age group is my child in?
Use the finder above. Age groups follow the USSF season (Aug 1 – Jul 31), so a player born in July and a player born in August of the same year are in different groups.
Where do teams train and play?
Training runs at Wheatley School, Michael J. Tully Park, the Hofstra Bubble, Harbor Links and Manhasset Valley Park, among others. Home games are mostly at Tully Park, Harbor Links, Wheatley and Manhasset Valley Park. Fields & directions
Is Albertson Select the same as tryouts?
No. Albertson Select is the club’s talent-identification program for players outside Albertson SC. Current Albertson families register through tryouts here. albertsonselect.com
